I think the first open meeting was a total failure because those making suggestions were not helped to feel like they accomoplished somethinng. I will not attend others. I would much rather go back to the Church Council plan. I voted wrong. We were ledd to believe that if we took the erisk to make a suggestions, some good would come out of it. Not so. I a so sorry thaat members of Ebbert do not want a Paying Congregation. I obviously have joined the wrong church, since I must beling to a congregation that believes in praying.
This is early March and two Open Meetings have been held. My opinion and attitude has done a total about face. I see that free ideas can be developed and be wonderful. i heartily concur with the idea of a Community Garden on our vacant lot. We can offer garden plots to many different people, including the Homeless folk in our midst. My first comment was influenced by my unsuccessful attempt to interest our group in becoming more involved in prayer. I still feel we should become more of a praying congregation, but my approach must have been erroneous. I will keep trying. I did plug it in the sermon I preached on Feb. 28. Maybe calling it CREATING A COMMUNITY OF PRAYER will interest more people.
