FAQ’s:

1.  Are there people like me at Ebbert?

We have strong representation of seniors and of Baby Boomers.  We also have an increasing number of Gen X’s and their children.  Our theological views range from conservative to liberal… whatever that means.

2.  Can I participate in church events?

Yes.  You can join any of our classes or groups at any time.  You can take communion (Lord’s Supper) at any age, without being a member of the church or the denomination.

When you’re ready to be on our mailing list, fill out our registration card and we’ll help you find a role, group, or task that suits you.  Or send us an e-mail.

3.  Is there a place for my children?

Yes, but you should be aware that they will be in small classes; we may have about five elementary school children in Sunday School, for example.  This can be an advantage, in that every child receives quality individual attention.  Some parents would prefer that their children be in larger settings.  We hope to grow in numbers of children, because we think a true picture of God’s intention includes a wide age range!

4.  Must I follow your practices?

No; as a newcomer or constituent, we hope you will take your time to get to know us.  But when you get serious about joining, we will talk with you about following our practices of worship, prayer, and so on.  Membership means that you choose us as the place where you will grow spiritually and live out your mission on earth.

5.  If I give to the church, will my money be used wisely?

A portion of your money will be used at Ebbert, to pay staff salaries and enable local missions.  A portion goes to the regional and national church, for statewide and global missions.  The United Methodist Committee On Relief has an excellent reputation for helping in time of disaster, and also in ongoing recovery.
