Worship
Sunday morning at 9:30 AM is the largest gathering of the week for us. We come to praise God and celebrate our community with God, Jesus, the Spirit, and each other.
We have a blended style of worship. We begin with gathering responses and praise music. Then, our excellent choir and organist offer music ranging from classical to contemporary church music. We hear the Word through the reading of the Bible and the pastor’s meditation on it. We explore various ways of responding, including an offering, and then apply what we’ve heard to our lives!
Dress is casual. Children are welcome and enjoy our children’s time during the service.

As a member of St. Paul Center U.M.C I occasionally attend Ebbert as a visitor. I plan to bring my retired pastor, Bill, every communion Sunday. Bill resides at Gateway Living Residential Care in an Alzheimer’s Care Unit. When we came on December 7, 2008, Bill really enjoyed himself. Not too many months ago Bill was able to help Pastor Dave serve communion. (His clerical robe is still in the closet in Dave’s office.) We always experience a warm and welcoming congregation, here. I am hoping that Bill’s mental capacity will continue to allow him to participate here.
I need to leave a new comment. I am now a member of Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church!!! Now I am looking for responsibilities. Lay Leader Tom Wilson assigned me the interesting job of developing a ministry to Shut-ins and those living away from home. Most of these wonderful people are not able to attend worship on Sunday. We need lots of volunteers to vsit all these folk. WE also need to devellop of way to take Communion to them where they live. Now that I am a member of Ebbert I will be writing to all of these persons.
However, since I cannot drive any more I will not be able to visit all of them, but I will be happy to go visit with you. Do you remember who used to be in your UMW Circle? Those with dementia still enjoy visits. I know my husband, the Rev. Bill does. I wish I could see him more often. Please let me know if you are willing to visit someone and who that is. I hope to arrange visits for all. Thank you for your concern.
Peace,
Bonnie Norman
